Segment LCD screen, refers to a fixed LCD screen that is displayed
or not displayed in a specified position, which can only be used
for simple display of numbers and characters, mainly to replace the
LED digital tube (composed of 7 pen segments, used to display the
number 0~9). Widely used in: automotive instruments, beauty
instruments, small household appliances, watches, electronic
scales, clocks, landlines, calculators and other products, the
content displayed is digital and relatively simple. (as shown
below)
The main difference between the dot matrix screen and the segment
screen is: the segment LCD screen can only display characters and
numbers, while the dot matrix LCD screen can not only display
numbers but also display graphy and images, and the segment LCD
screen is much cheaper in price.
The segment LCD screen has the advantages of fast response, low
power consumption and low cost. It is precisely because of these
advantages that many users will choose the segment LCD screen, the
segment LCD screen is required to make the tooling mold
customization, so what parameters need to be determined before the
tooling is made, the following is introduced by the segment code
LCD screen manufacturer:
Parameters that need to be confirmed for customized segment LCD:
1. Size: The size of the window (viewing area) is the most
important
2. Backlight: whether you need a backlight and a backlight method
(if you use it at night, it is recommended to install a backlight;
Reference the bottom backlight or the side backlight
3. The producer of the drive: do it yourself or the manufacturer.
4. Working voltage
5. Provide display renderings, drawings or required colors
(generally white on blue, yellow-green and low-black and white on
black, etc.)
6. Connection: metal pin connection or zebra connection
7. Display mode: choose transmissive, transfletive or reflective(no
backlight).
8. Viewing angle: 6:00, 12:00, 3:00, 9:00 to choose
